Christmas Fun

I started this earlier in the week and said I would have it finished by the weekend, I am happy to say that I got there!!!  I even finished up reports in time as well, this is a red letter day friends.

So I am happy to bring you my Christmas Activity Book, this would be suitable for Grade 1 or 2.  It is chock full of literacy and numeracy activities and also includes a craft and a game for kiddos to play.  All you need to do is print and staple, this would be great for fast finishers or to send home with kiddos to finish off over the holidays.

Or you could just pick and choose which activities you would like your kiddos to do, personally I think the Bouncy Gingerbread people would be soooo cute on a bulletin board or hanging up.

Christmas boards

I have started to put up our Christmas display boards.  I started with a tree and we are adding decorations to it  as we continue our Christmas craft.  I have also been using Shanyn's Christmas packet for literacy and maths blocks. (Get your copy here).

One of the items we used this week from Shanyn's pack was Festive Words . We brainstormed words that we might use in our Christmas writing and I wrote it on to a piece of poster card, then the students each chose 2 words and either used a dictionary to find the definition or wrote down what they KNEW to be the correct definition.  They then had to write a sentence for each word.  We have been focussing on how to make our sentences more interesting so they really had to think about having adjectives, verbs and making sure it made sense.  I think they look great!

We have also completed my Candy Cane Craftivity which includes an acrostic poem, they LOVED this activity and were very happy with the end result.  (Get your FREE copy here.)

It looks a bit bare at the moment, more craft to come to fill up the space....stay tuned.

 For the star on the Christmas tree I cut out a template and each student used their thumb print to put some yellow paint on it, I am thinking about adding some glitter on Monday.  The kiddos all let out an "Awwww" when I pinned the start to the top of the tree.  Magic!  I am so happy we get to share the magic of Christmas with our students.

Getting into the Christmas Spirit

Hi All!
This post was supposed to be about my week in review, with pictures included......sadly not to be my friends.  I left my camera at school on Friday and realised it on Friday night when I was about to do a blog post.  As my school is about a 40 minute drive one way....I really didn't think you would mind waiting till Monday evening to see my week in review.  Now you all have something to look forward to!
Instead I have started on my Christmas activities and have uploaded my first Christmas product to my TpT store.  The Christmas Gift  match up-facts to 10 consolidates the part-part-whole concept and as students have to match the correct colour when making the match it is self correcting (love those activities).  I have also included blank gifts sheets so students can record the facts to 10.
