Proud Mum!

I am sure you will all forgive me if I take a little time during this post to have a little Momma brag.  Yesterday my very beautiful, very talented daughter Tarrah auditioned for a piano scholarship with our local Conservatorium of Music.  Many hours of practice has paid off because she won!  She has only been playing the piano for less than a year although has played violin for roughly 4 years.  We were so proud of her, she didn't think she was going to get it and was really surprised when they called her name :)  I was beyond excited for her.  It was such a wonderful moment but you know what I had a feeling she was going to get it, maybe a little Mummy intuition.  I am also proud to say that my wonderful teaching partner and friend Mrs White was also there and her son won a partial scholarship for guitar.  My oh my such talented musicians we have here!  Maybe we can start a band....I can play tambourine really well ;)

Anyway on to the rest of the post, we have been busy, busy, busy in my classroom getting started on our narratives and I was fortunate to spot this post from Megan at I Teach. What's your Superpower ( I love that blog title!) about her anchor chart.  So I made one on the Smart board but didn't take a photo, then I put up a picture of a boy walking a dog, an eagle, a forest and the word "Woosh!"  As a class we made a plan and then the kiddos had to write their own stories from the plan.  Most of them enjoyed it and hopefully we will have the finished product next week.  I have been without a TA for the last week and a half and will be again for the next week so it has been slow going in my classroom.  I have to tell you trying to call out the maths mentals questions whilst putting eye drops in a wriggly child- not fun.  This has to be done every hour! Oh well, adapt, improvise and overcome is our motto, so we soldier on.  Hopefully I will get a chance to have time to get photos of our narratives and my measurement task cards I want to try out before putting them up on TpT.

Lastly tomorrow I will be announcing the winner of my 101 Follower Giveaway, so if you haven't entered.....go NOW!

Happy rest of the weekend to all!
